Samsung is rumored to suspend the procurement of all business groups

Recently, foreign media, citing a number of sources familiar with the matter, reported that due to excessive inventory, as well as concerns about global inflation, Samsung Electronics has notified all business groups to suspend new purchase orders.

The report noted that Samsung suspended new purchase orders involving a wide range of key product lines, including TVs, notebooks, home appliances and cell phones, and asked a number of suppliers to delay or reduce the supply of components, mainly containing panel displays, memory chips, PCBs, power supplies and so on.

The sources said Samsung told suppliers that the company needs to closely review the inventory levels of components and final products to ensure that the inventory is under control. The move will last until the end of July, two people familiar with the matter said. One of the people familiar with the matter revealed that the company has not yet completely stopped shipments, but the company has cut shipments to Samsung by 50 percent in July.

In addition, some media reports said that Samsung suspended incoming shipments, the first to bear the brunt of the panel-related products, along with the impact on the smartphone application processor (AP), TV system-on-chip (SoC), driver IC, CIS components and other IC design industry supply performance.
